Dollhouse: My New Coffee Table!

My coffee table has finally arrived! It took ages to ship, but it got to me in the end. I put her together today (with the help from a friend) and she is gorgeous! The cardboard box coffee table is no more! Thank you for all of your suggestions on my Coffee Table Hullabaloo post; many of you suggested this one and I really love it! It's from West Elm, if you're wondering - Link!

Now I just need to get the right decor combination for the top of the table. I put the flower vase and book there just to have something there for the picture, but those won't be staying permanently (well, maybe. But it needs more). Also, ignore the sofa pillows... I am in the middle of trying out a few different combinations, but that chevron pillow is actually for my patio, not the living room. I do really love those white fluffy pillows though - they look much nicer in person than its showing in this picture against the cream sofa.

I'm planning on getting two Moroccan poufs for the living room, and would love suggestions on which color(s) to get. I'm thinking either GoldSilverWhite, or maybe this Blush Pink. Which one do you think would look the best in this living room set-up? And should I get two of the same color, or two different colors? I'm leaning towards two of the same; I don't want it to be too "thrown together" looking.

Let me know what you think in a comment below - I read every one of them!

  2. Looks great! I love the coffee table choice! As far as the Moroccan poufs go I think the white or the blush. I kind of feel like the gold and silver look cheap.

  3. really love this set up elle, super gorgeous color! (now i can't wait for ur updated condo tour hehe) btw, i would suggest blush pink for both of the poufs, it'd be perfect match to ur sofa & coffee table n very well suited to ur soft 'whimsical' personality (:

  4. I love the white and blush! either one would look beautiful. I personally would choose the blush. Since everything is white, I think it would be a beautiful soft pop of color :)

  6. I think the sofa pillows look great! I would go for the blush or gold. Just to give it a little color to not be too matchy matchy with the white/cream theme. Looks beautiful! :)

  7. I would go with the blush or the gold, both would add some color to the white which would look nice.

  8. Your living room is looking so pretty :) I think you should go with blush pink, it'd be a gorgeous pop of colour without being "too much".

  9. Hi Elle! Love it, looks amazing I especially love the rug! Instead of the flower you have on the coffee table at the moment I think a big bunch of white tulips in a fish bowl vase would look great!

  10. 2 in the blush pink! So pretty. I think it is so cute that you call your apartment your Dollhouse, one day I want my own Dollhouse to live in! :-)

  11. Hi Elle-Bell! Beautiful coffee table. I think you should pick the gold, silver and white if you choose pillows for your sofa that are in the accent-colours of the room and if you match the same colours or similar colours on the coffee table. Otherwise go for the blush pink since the sofas are white and for example, use pale pillows. That way the poufs are the focus of the living area. Hugs and kisses! Johanna

  12. I absolutely love your coffee table and how you have set up your living room! I just moved into my first townhouse and all my furniture are mismatched hand-me-downs or were bought by my roommate at auctions - so not as cute as your set up.

I definitely think that the blush pink would look best! The silver and gold look a little cheap in the photos and you might have an issue with the white being to mismatched with your couches. Also, your living room is mostly white and neutrals so I think it needs some pop of colour!

  14. Hi Elle,

Great choice on the coffee table! I think that gold pouffes would be nice as they would add a bit of warmth to the room. I absolutely love decorating my apartment. It's so much fun picking out little cute pieces!

I would definitely go with the white or the blush pouffe, either one in each colour or two of the same. I thought the silver and gold.. hmm, they didnt look cheap, but they didnt go as well with the rest of your decor. Thats my opinion at least!
Please keep updating this blog, its awesome :3

  18. P.S:

I thought you might like this chair if you haven't already seen it at Ikea?

I have this only mine came in a faux lambswool cover which might not be available anymore. But it's *super comfy*!

I use mine in my studio apartment so it doubles as both an office chair as well as extra seating. You can also add or remove castors from the base <3

  19. A Dollhouse needs pink, don't you think? Go for the Blush, both same.

  20. I Love everything u have picked so far. Blush would be cute but please not Gold. What is the name of the coffee table book?

  21. I'm loving the living room, Elle! I've been re-doing my bedroom lately, and I'm going for different shades of white like this, with a poop of light blue and gray. Your blog is so inspiring and i LOVE all your posts.

I really like the idea of a blush pouf, as I feel the silver may look a BIT tacky and the gold may wash out the already neutral colors of the room. Two blush ones (I agree, they should both be the same color) would be gorgeous, but if you don't like the idea of two pink seats, you could always get blush pillows and table accents and go with gold poufs. :)

  22. I love your living room Elle! It's really nice.
I think for this one the white or the blush pink Moroccan poufs. The white because it matches your room or the pink to give your room a bit of a pop.

Elle, are you going to be doing a glitterature anytime soon? I really miss them!

  23. My first inclination was to choose the blush poufs for a subtle pop of color. However, I'm not sure how they would play on your chevron rug. Is the rug too peanuty-tan? It's so hard to tell when computer monitors all read colors so differently. Therefore, I would choose 2 white poufs and perhaps incorporate your pops of blush in your pillows, artwork &/or coffee table accessories. Plus the white poufs could easily work in other rooms as well as with future decor. The gold pouf reads a little too brassy to me and might not give you the classy, I think you'd be after. Perhaps incorporating little touches of gold as a subtle accent in a vase, tray or decorative bowl or perhaps gold statement frames for some of your artwork. A little bit of gold goes a very long way and I think it aesthetically pleasing when used with a discerning touch. Have lots of fun choosing whatever suits you best!

  25. I ADORE those blush poufs. Make sure whichever you chosen that you get the STUFFED ones. They are a little more but SO worth it. It takes tons and tons of stuffing to fill those things up. The blush color does come stuffed as well as unstuffed (your link is to the unstuffed one ;)

    ReplyDelete
  26. I love it! and I think the flower on the table actually isn't that non-fitting :) for the poufs I would get either the pink and gold ones or the pink and silver ones but white doesn't seem to be that fitting because it's just stark white.

  28. wilkinson's in england are selling a vase and tealight holder that have the same chevron design as your cushion. I redecorated my bedroom recently with them.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think the poufs should have some colour/pattern in it, because after what I have seen (of your gorgeous, I might add) condo, it seems quite "plain" in colour! (especially the livingroom) Which is very nice in the beginning, but gets boring in the blink of an eye.. ;)

Good luck choosing, I think it will look awesome wat evver you choose!

PS: I LOOOOOVE the rug! Where is it from? :D

    ReplyDelete
  30. Just remember that people may put their feet up on the Moroccan poofs- they shouldn't, but it happens. My point is that it would be best to pick a color that won't show too much dirt. Or just tell people to keep off! Haha ;)

    ReplyDelete
  31. 2 Blush Pink poufs would be phenomenal in your living room. It would add a nice flush of color without loosing the classic look your going for! And it shouldn't clash with your chevron rug as it seems pretty neutral. I'd also replace the chevron pillow with a blush pink pillow to pull it all together :) I'm so jealous of your living room!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hands down, definitely the blush. Also, I know the pillow is for your patio, but I like the idea of a patterned or textured pillow to add some contrast. Maybe a cable knit one? :)

  33. I think the blush one looks like skin...lol...but i like this gray one, http://www.amazon.com/Moroccan-Genuine-Leather-Ottoman-Unstuffed/dp/B003WGCL92/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377903601&sr=8-1&keywords=gray+morrocan+poof

  39. Definitely the blush pink of white poufs. I think they will look the best with the color scheme you are using now.

    ReplyDelete
  40. There's actually a light gray one in that same design that I think would look great! I feel like the pink might be a bit juvenile.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I like the blush pink poufs, they would add a touch of colour while still keeping a neutral tone to your room. I love your cushions- I want to redo the cushions in my lounge but trying to get my other half into the idea of cushion purchasing is tough (he calls them fat litter!!) - maybe I should just replace them and see how long it takes him to notice hehe! 48. I love your rug/carpet! For the poufs, I'd go with the white or blush. I think the silver and gold ones could look a bit cheap, depending on the quality/fabric. Personally I'd go for a cream/beige pouf, but I don't know if that's available?

  51. I fell that the Gold would clash too much with the rest of your decor in the room, and you have to be really careful with white leather as it stains way too easily. I would suggest either the silver or blush.
P.S you can trust me on this I have a certificate in interior design. :)

  52. I think the blush pink one would look good and add a nice bit of colour! It also seems to be a colour you really love!

  54. Silver,Gold doesn't really match, white = too much white, and pink will just ruin the elegance of the room.

  62. Hi Elle! I just watched your home tour video, that led me to this blog of yours I didn't know of!
And after a bit of scrolling and reading around I came to the conclusion that I really like this blog because it shows kind of a new but "old" you. It is so nice to see a more personal you, not the one for the millions youtube followers because it feels more real writing a comment on a blog where there are "just" *cough cough* 60 or so more comments, than on a video with god knows how many views/comments.

Plus it feels seems more likely that you will actually read this!
Anyways, great job, both on the blog and your house.

  68. I love your place! We have similar decorating styles. :) I think the room needs a little more contrast. Don't go with a neutral poof, go for the blush pink. If you already had color in your pillows I'd say go for white, but the pink will add just a touch of color to the room!
